The meaning of PR and its importance to the financial institutions
PR stands for Public Relations. Many people think that PR is a process of making relations with other people. It is absoultely right but it is also a state of ethics, trust, taste and undestanding others. If such points were available in the scientific mean then we can call a process. PR happens to be important for all aspects of life.
Moreover, the financial and investment institutions need to have PR practitioners in their departments becuase the basic of such institutions are people. PR people have the ability to build great relationships with clients. If the PR practitioner has the communications skills, then he/she will achieve the aim of his job. Most of the speakers in the IPRA-GC conference that was held in Kuwait have emphasized on the importance of the communication skills. In my opinion, the communication skills open the doors for the PR practitioner to know more about how to negotiate and how to manage a crisis as Dr.Anas Al-Rushaid said in the conference.
Also, the importance of the PR in the corporates has been discussed in details by Mrs.Sandra Maclead. She discussed through the researches that her company made that PR is important as any other process in a corporates. Plus there were differenct case studies that have been mentioned in the conference about the reason of successful corporates, such as MTC and Investment Dar, which was having PR as a department or having PR practitioners.
Therefore, we cannot deny the importance of PR in the financial institutions. It is part of our daily life. To be a PR person you have to have strong communication skills internally and externally.
